Кубок Мира по хоккею 1996 года
August 23, 1996 FETISOV HURTING WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY By DAVE FULLER Toronto Sun DETROIT -- This was supposed to be Viacheslav Fetisov's final hurrah with the Russian national team. But a fluke knee injury could cancel his World Cup farewell tour. Fetisov, 38, wrenched his knee during a skating drill in Europe this week and won't dress for the pre-tournament game tonight against Team USA at Joe Louis Arena. If he's still not able to play a week from now, Russian coach Boris Mikhailov could be forced to delete Fetisov from his final roster, which must be submitted 24 hours before Russia's first game, Aug. 29, against Canada. "I hope it's not serious," Fetisov said yesterday after being checked out by a Red Wings doctor. "I can't play another four years so I can be in the next (World Cup)." Fetisov described Team Russia as "the best team we've put together since the 1988 Olympics in Calgary." Источник - "Toronto Sun"
